As a parent, the responsibility of leading our children on the path of Godly parenting can sometimes feel overwhelming. We strive to make the right decisions, extend mercy and grace, but we are only human, and we falter in the face of our children's trials and challenges. It is in these moments of doubt and struggle that our faith is tested, and our commitment to Godly parenting is put to the ultimate test.
Just as God has mercy and grace over me, I try my best to extend the same to my children. When they face challenges, make mistakes, or find themselves on the wrong path, I try to show them understanding, forgiveness, and compassion (it's easier said than done, I know). The harder part for me though, is to extend forgiveness and grace to those who hurt my kids. By trying to embody God's grace and mercy, I surely struggle more than I would like to, in navigating middle school drama.
By creating this blog category, I am trying to hold myself accountable for my parenting decisions in times of trial. By sharing my trying journey, I hope I inspire other parents to take the tough path of putting God at the center of their parenting decisions.
I don't always get it right, but I sure do try to, and that's the beauty of Godly parenting: It is knowing that you can't be perfect, but can always rely on God's grace.
Join me on this journey, hand in hand with God, as we lead our children with love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
